How many guests can the Hellenic Banquet Center accommodate?

Our venue seats up to 480 guests with the dance floor in use, or up to 520 guests without a dance floor. We can work with you to find the ideal layout for your event size and style.

What types of events do you host?

We host a wide range of events including wedding receptions, corporate dinners, milestone birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, graduation parties, holiday banquets, fundraisers, and cultural events. If you’re not sure whether we’re the right fit, give us a call — we’re happy to discuss your vision.

Can I schedule a tour of the venue before booking?

Absolutely. We encourage all prospective clients to visit in person. Tours are available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Call us at (219) 718-1437 to set up an appointment.

Catering & Bar

Do you provide catering?

Yes — we offer full in-house catering. Our culinary team works with you to create a custom menu tailored to your event, dietary needs, and budget. We handle everything from appetizers and buffets to plated multi-course dinners.

Can I bring my own food or hire an outside caterer?

All food and beverage service is handled exclusively by our in-house catering team. Outside food and outside caterers are not permitted, which allows us to maintain consistent quality and food safety standards.

Do you have a bar?

Yes, we have a full-service bar. Bar packages are available and can be customized to include beer, wine, and spirits. Please contact us for current bar package pricing and options.

Can guests bring their own alcohol?

Outside alcohol is not permitted. All alcohol must be purchased through our licensed bar service.

Amenities & Setup

Is there a dance floor?

Yes, we have a built-in dance floor. Including the dance floor reduces seating capacity to 480 guests. If your event doesn’t require a dance floor, we can seat up to 520 guests.

Do you provide audio/visual equipment?

Yes. The Hellenic Banquet Center is equipped with a professional AV and sound system, including a microphone and speakers. Please discuss your specific AV needs with us during the planning process.

Is there Wi-Fi available?

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the venue for you and your guests.

Is there parking?

Yes, free on-site parking is available for all guests. Our parking lot can accommodate a large number of vehicles, making it easy for guests traveling from across the region.

Can I hire my own DJ, band, or entertainment?

Yes, you are welcome to bring in your own DJ, live band, or other entertainment. Please let us know in advance so we can coordinate setup with our AV team.

Can I bring in my own decorator or florist?

Yes. You may hire outside decorators, florists, or event planners. Setup access time will be coordinated with our team when you book.

Booking & Policies

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as early as possible — especially for Saturday events and peak seasons (spring and fall). Popular dates can book out 12–18 months in advance. Contact us to check availability for your date.

What is required to reserve a date?

A signed contract and deposit are required to secure your event date. Please contact us directly at (219) 718-1437 or stop by during office hours for current deposit requirements and pricing.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms are outlined in your event contract. We strongly recommend reviewing these terms at the time of booking. Please contact us with any questions about our cancellation or rescheduling policy.

When can vendors and decorators arrive to set up?

Setup access is typically arranged as part of your booking agreement. We’ll coordinate a setup window with you based on the day’s schedule. Please discuss your setup timing needs with us when planning your event.

Where is the Hellenic Banquet Center located?

We are located at 8000 Madison St, Merrillville, IN 46410, conveniently situated in the heart of Northwest Indiana with easy access from I-65.

What are your office hours?

Our office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday, though events may be scheduled on weekends.
